Bengali Literacy Class Info & Schedule

BAFA was officially launched in 2011 as a Language Preservation Initiative in the Bronx. The Bengali language carries with it the heritage of Bengal - the cultural arts, economic implications, political power and the essence of the mother land which so many have left behind. BAFA Bengali Lit. students begin by learning how to read and write in Bangla. They work to improve pronunciation of words via practice of poetry recitation and basic conversation. Given the rapidly growing Bengali speaking immigrant population in the states, it is not only good for personal growth to know this language, but also a useful skill to have in professional spaces.
